eBay and getting feedbacks

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 7, 2012, 9:20 PM

I'm new to eBay.

I've bought a couple of old G.I.Joes and noticed the feedback section and now I have a few questions for those more experienced than me regarding them:

Are feedbacks important?

Should a buyer request feedback after paying?

What do I do if I asked for a positive feedback for prompt payment
and seller still won't you give feedback and demands that he/she only
gives one after getting one even though item hasn't arrived yet?

I think that's it.

Receiving feedback on your purchase doesnt really matter from what ive been through. It only really affects you if you ended up not paying previous items or were late in payment. Now for your side, if there are any non mentioned scratches on those CDs-games etc and no refund/exchange options were given, boom, negative feedback - make sure no one else gets swindled.

Feedback is always done once the other party performs on part of the transaction. If you bought something, then feedback is normally done right after you pay for an item. Other times, they wait to leave feedback once they have shipped the item. You only leave feedback after you receive the item and are satisfied with the contents. If you are the seller, then it goes vice versa. Either way, feedback is EXTREMELY important on eBay. It tells a story of your integrity as both a buyer and seller, and allows the potential client to make judgement as to whether or not they want to do business with you.

If you don't have feedback received after about 4-5 days, it is a good idea to contact them via message in eBay and request feedback be left in a polite way, and also offer to answer any questions they may have as well. If you have anymore questions or anything man, drop me a note, and I will be more than happy to help you!

Thanks! You made me realize that I shouldn't expect feedback right away haha because, yeah, they might be waiting on something or busy with other things. I always thought that I should get feedback immediately after paying for an item but now I'll give them a couple days to get feedback then request for them if nothing happened during that time.

Thanks again for the tips!

Np bro. As you get the hang of eBay and how it works, and the more you buy and sell, you will understand more my man. Again, take me up on my offer of advice if you need anything. Don't ever hesitate to ask!

sellers almost always wait till you leave yours if at all.

as for buying?

eh don't set it if you don't get any it's not that important so long as it's not negative

I thought negatives only matter to sellers?

it generally looks bad. Sellers may be hesitant to sell to someone with bad feedback and try to back out of it.

also they like to try and respond to bad feedback left if it ends up being something unreasonible or something they should have brought up before leaving feedback
