Singing in Head Tone?

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 19, 2010, 8:39 PM

Can anyone here explain to me how that works? I've been reading some stuff about it and the technical jargons only confuses me.

  • Mood: Artistic
  • Listening to: my children at play

Are you asking about singing? Singing with your head voice produces a higher, whinier noise. You're supposed to sing with your diaphragm, that thing that makes you breath xD. It's hard to wrap your head around it at first, but it was hammered into my through years of chorus. I'm not sure how else to explain it really. I hope this is what you were looking for, if not, sorry to waste time lol

Yeah, that's it. I could barely understand how singing from the diaphragm works, head tone really got me beat. I've read some stuff about head voice resonating from the frontal cavity and such and I'm like "huh?".

Bwahaha! Never heard that! Well if you're the one sing I can recommend pushing in on your diaphragm while singing. That's how my chorus teacher taught us. I was also a cheerleader so I had to cheer from my diaphragm >,<;
