On second thought, maybe when they died in real life they were transported to the flash sideways life where they don't remember their previous life or something strange like that.
They're all dead, we're all dead. If you go forward any tale far enough, everyone's dead. Hell, even Alpert's dead (or bound to die as evidenced by his first grey hair).
! Thankfully, I haven't watched Lost since episode 1 of season 2. Thank my lucky stars I didn't waste years of my life following this for a 'they're all already dead' cop out. It's like the ending of the Sixth sense, but spread over 6 years?
They're all dead in the flash sideways. But we don't know when this is though. Seeing that Jacob protected the island for almost 2000 years, it's pretty certain Hurley was there for quite some time. So the flash sideways part could take place hundreds, or even thousands of years after Jack died.
But everything that happened on the island, did really happen.
weird.
in fact the flash sideways are the present and the adventure on the island was the past .
the thing i want they explain is the gigantic egyptian statue and the origin of the fake mom of jacob and his noname bro/smokey lol
good series but too much plot hole seriously...
So I can not tell you.
