My PC (AMD Sempron 2600 1.6 GHz, 2G RAM) was craaaaaaaawling ever so slow the other day and I was so pissed that I deleted a lot of old fles, uninstalled rarely used programs and defragged thinking that it'd help speed things up (I'm a noob, I really don't know what else to do).
Long story short, one of the programs I took down was Internet Explorer 7 and when I rebooted, the explorer and the taskbar was gone and I couldn't open any programs and do my job. Good thing I found out all I had to do was replace the missing iertutil.dll file and everything went back to normal. Thank GOD! I almost paid a guy PhP800 for that.
Anyway, this may sound petty for the rich kids out there hahaha but from a guy who couldn't afford a new pc or external drives for back-ups, the idea of my computer dying and taking everything away with it is pretty fucking white-knuckling.
Nice work and glad it worked out for ya. Had the same issue and managed to correct it and then my motherboard gave up the ghost lol. So plan ahead as much as you can is my advice as broke as we all are it do the best ya can
