Pencil, Acrylic (2000), Greatly inspired by my all-time favorite mangaka, Hiroaki Samura's dry brush effect paintings.
The two warriors seen here are from a story that I've been working on FOREVER.
I think I've posted this one before but, I took it down for reasons I no longer remember.
Anyway, I did this painting after winning the Grand Prize in a local comic bookstore's Character Design contest, held to inaugurate the showing of the first X-Men film and because of that little success, my name somehow circulated among the local comic book community and I even got emails from Budjette Tan to Gerry Alanguilan, the latter even mentioning that I was on the Top 1 list of the PHENOMENAL, Leinil Yu who was one of the judges. Then I dropped off the radar due to family life.
I'm kinda back on the saddle now, I think. But, the one thing that's been driving me nuts is whether I made any improvement after all those years, because it's really, really hard to tell, personally.
